Spring/Summer '11 Fashion Trends

Heyya!
It’s been a hell of an experience preparing for the exams, moving house and all. Oh yes, I am back to AMK!!
I can’t tell y'all how happy I am that I can finally pay more attention to my blog!
To kick off this post-exam entry,
I‘ve decided to go back to one of my greatest loves: FASHION!

Looking at the various Spring/Summer ’11 collections by the various labels, I realised I really missed on something big! So for those who have been missing out like me, here’s my take on the latest trends..

Prints
Does it ever go out of style? It never does. With the energy spring and summer brings, prints are always a great choice to strut out in style and express who you are. Nothing says prints better than Prada and Lanvin whose image of prints is in such contrast but both looks are equally great! And of course, who can forget floral prints as beautifully done by Dolce & Gabbana!
Prada

Lavin

Dolce & Gabbana

Oriental Exotica
Louis Vuitton seems to be looking east for inspiration. Taking a cue from LV, we should definitely celebrate our Asian heritage! But before you rush off to grab the next cheongsum off the racks, do note that LV does an interesting twist to it... You don’t wanna look like a dim sum waitress do you?
Louis Vuitton

Classic
When in doubt, always fall back on the classics. But in the process, do not afraid to be bold and experiment with colours and designs. Still clueless? Take a cue from the following looks!
Yves Saint Laurent
(clean lines, and stylish looks)

Valentino
(European Chic)

Roomy Comforts
Baggy clothing is no longer used to cover up plus size figures this season. While some of the following looks may remind us of the past, it’s not exactly passé is it?
Jil Sander

Celine

Materials & Textures
In the spirit of experimentation, various labels have toss in materials, layers and textures into their looks with great results! As homage to the great Lee Mcqueen, Sarah Burton, his right hand woman, successfully continues the style of Mcqueen with a bold use of texture for the collection. Dolce & Gabbana features again by highlighting the beauty of Italian women by teasing us with the use of white lace as the men drool on..
Alexander Mcqueen

Dolce & Gabbana

I am simply amazed at this year’s collection because it has a wide variety of styles, textures, materials and colours! There’s really nothing that should be IN that isn’t featured in this year’s collection.
To sum up Spring/Summer, be BOLD and interesting!
Never afraid to be yourself!

I’m surely not going to change anytime soon..
After reviewing these trends, what better to celebrate the end of exams with some BOLD shopping?!!!!
